RL Commercial REIT (RCR), the real estate investment trust company of Robinsons Land, has been honored as an EDGE Champion, becoming the first office REIT company in the Philippines to achieve this distinction.

 

The EDGE certification system, developed by the International Finance Corp. (IFC), focuses on energy, water, and embodied energy in materials to promote sustainability.

 

RCR’s recognition highlights Robinsons Offices, which now encompasses over 200,000 square meters of EDGE-certified building space.

 

Robinsons Offices’ certified properties, including Robinsons Cyberscape Alpha, Robinsons Cyber Omega, Robinsons Cyberscape Beta, Robinsons Cyberscape Gamma, and Robinsons Cybergate Galleria Cebu, have yielded significant energy, water, and embodied energy savings.

 

These buildings have achieved energy savings equivalent to powering 4,069 Philippine households annually, water savings meeting the needs of approximately half the country’s population, and embodied energy savings equivalent to the energy produced by 6.05 million liters of gasoline.

 

Jericho P. Go, SVP of Robinsons Land and RCR president and CEO, emphasized the company’s commitment to stewardship and sustainability.

 

With the goal of achieving Net-Zero carbon emissions by 2050, Robinsons Offices aims to certify more properties in its portfolio.

 

Currently, 47% of their portfolio comprises green buildings, including LEED-certified structures like Tera Tower, Exxa-Zeta Towers, and Giga Tower at the Bridgetowne Destination Estate. These sustainability certifications enhance property value and meet the rising demand for eco-conscious office spaces aligned with ESG responsibilities.
